Tour Leader:

The leader for this tour is Dave Brown.  Dave grew up in the Northern Virginia and has spent over half his life in and around Washington and the battlegrounds we are going to visit.  Growing up in the Washington area as an Army brat, Dave developed an early interest in the Civil War. At a young age, he and his Father walked the local battlefields and camped and fished in the Shenandoah National Park just west of Washington.  His interest in the Civil War was further expanded as a Cadet at West Point and later as an officer in the Army.   Dave’s understanding of the Civil War has continued to expand through studying the political impacts of Civil War and how it has shaped how we as Americans view ourselves.  His explanations of Union and Confederate generalship, weapons, strategies and tactics will enhance the tour and our understanding of history of the unique region.
