Where we visit: Featuring Deschutes Brewery

Madison Lucas Beer, Experience Park Tours, Wine

When it comes to quality and originality, Deschutes Brewery goes the full mile. Located in the lively downtown of Bend, Oregon, Deschutes public house has been around since 1988 and have been successfully expanding and growing their brand ever since. The Brewery is the #1 largest independently owned craft brewery in the Pacific Northwest, which gives them the ability to brew over 478,000 beer barrels a year and produce many different seasonal beers. Deschutes has even expanded their brand all the way out to Roanoke, Virginia. Bringing our guests to Deschutes gives them the unique, special flavor of Oregon, and is a crucial stop when visiting Bend.

The Bend location is not only a spot where you can find great beer, and choose from 19 taps to be exact, but it has also become a place for locals and visitors to gather and grab a bite to eat. The pub’s cuisine is made from fresh, local ingredients bought from local farmers, foragers, and ranchers. It is important for the Deschutes team to keep a strong relationship with their community and offer their customers the highest quality product. In fact, most menu items are handmade from scratch, and some are made with the spent grain from the brewing process, such as the Black Butte Porter stone-ground mustard, and the Mirror Pond Pale Ale artichoke-jalapeno cheese dip.

Let’s talk about the beer!

Most of Deschutes’ beers are available for customers year-round, such as their Obsidian stout, American Wheat, and Fresh Squeezed IPA. But they always provide a seasonal beer! This coming summer seasonal beer will be the citrusy Twilight Summer Ale. Have you ever had the chance to try the famous Fresh Squeeze IPA?  Deschutes cares most about customer satisfaction- and when the beer was created only as a seasonal beer in 2015, consumers loved it so much that Deschutes decided to brew it all year round. In fact, it is now the company’s best selling beer! No surprise there- with its perfect balance of hops, and splash of grapefruit flavor followed by smooth notes of caramel, it is undeniably a beer that can be enjoyed at any time of the year.

Fun fact
As originality and the local community is important to Deschutes, they have been commissioning local artists to create new beer labels for them every year!
